With the exhibition "Pssst", the MMK is directing its attention to its very youngest visitors. Nine artists of Frankfurt and eight from England have developed and produced works especially for children between the ages of five and twelve.

In retrospect, Jack Smith’s (1932–1989) early performative, photographic and cinematic work must be described as visionary. Concentrating on Smith’s photographic work, the exhibition at the MMK will feature a colour photo series of the early 1960s as well as the 1970s slide projections.

The films and film installations by the artist and director Alex Monteith of New Zealand are characterized by a strong visual and poetic language of remarkable compositional clarity. Her works revolve around the themes of speed, endurance and high performance.

Thomas Scheibitz One-Time Pad

The Œuvre of Thomas Scheibitz (*1968 near Dresden) is as extensive as it is multi-faceted. Within this context, the painter will explore the theme of the human figure, which will be the chief motif of a solo exhibition by this artist for the first time.

The work of the Mexican-born artist Mauricio Guillén (b. 1971) encompasses film, photography, text works and objects. Guillén combines personal experience with the conceptual strategies he uses to explore how images and language influence our understanding of culture and history.
The chief focus of the exhibition at the MMK Zollamt will be Guillén’s most recent 16-mm black-and-white film "Avenida Progreso", for which he returned to Mexico City, where he spent his childhood and teenage years.

Works from the MMK Collection
In displays changing regularly over a period of seven months, the MMK will show new thematic ensembles with a focus on important conceptual strategies as well as the architectural photography in its holdings. This presentation mode will permit the museum to place several hundred works on view in suspenseful and unexpected constellations, and thus to unfold an impressive panorama of artistic photography.
Erik van Lieshout: Commission

In 2010 Dutch artist Erik van Lieshout (1968) was commissioned to make a film about Zuidplein, a shopping mall in the South of Rotterdam. Van Lieshout lived and worked in this neighborhood for 14 years and made a couple of his films there: "Respect" which was shown at the Dutch pavillion at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and "Awakening" (2005).

From April to October, 2012, RAY Fotografieprojekte Frankfurt/RheinMain is presenting outstanding international examples of contemporary photography and video art. RAY consists of a main exhibition distributed between three central locations in Frankfurt am Main and numerous partner exhibitions and projects in Frankfurt and the surrounding region.
Saâdane Afif: Anthologie de l'humour noir

The French artist Saâdane Afif (b. 1970) – recipient of the acclaimed Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2009 – is coming to the MMK Zollamt to stage the first solo exhibition of his works ever to take place in a German museum.

"In the future everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes"
The exhibition collects 80 works of Andy Warhol for the first time, which have been influnced by contemporary newspaper and other mass media.
The exhibition is a cooperation with the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., the gallery Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna in Rome and The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
